V
Shattered and scattered:
Our Founding Fathers have suffered another death.
Their dusty bones can be heard rattling throughout
The late twentieth century democracy
That allows science and technology to run amok,
Finally destroying any recognition of their Dream.

Flattered and battered:
Many other Ideals can be unearthed
From the garbage pits of history,
And in these fragments of disillusionment
Something of value will ultimately emerge.

To Some It Matters:
The Cry previously heard only in the Wilderness
Can be felt sighing through the cities and towns,
Racing unchecked down mean, terrorized streets
To Call your Name.
